Also known as the bump, is the most used skill to pass the ball
1. Put your arms out straight in front of you
2. Make a fist with one hand, and have your other hand flat
- Then wrap your hand around your fist
3. Bend your knees and step forward to pass
4. Contact ball on your forearms (not hands)
- Follow through with your body, don’t swing your arms
An overhead pass to put the ball in a good position
1. Move your feet and shoulders so they are facing the target.
2. Make a big diamond shape with your hands
- Look through it to see the ball high and in front of you
3. Contact the ball with spread fingers and push the ball up and out
4. Finish with your hands pointing up to the sky
The most exciting skill, trying to hit the ball over the net on the opponents ground to win a point
(focus on hitting the from in front of you)
1. Take a big jump before you hit
2. Bring your hitting hand back behind you (scratch your ear)
- At the same time, point your non-hitting hand out in front (aiming hand)
3. In the air, give the ball a big high 5
- Hit the ball with a full-stretched arm (as high and in front as you can reach)
The serves put the ball into play, sending the ball over the net to start the rally
1. Make a fist with your hitting arm and swing it back behind you
2. Hold the ball out straight in front of you with your other hand
3. Take a big step and swing your arm through the ball and follow through
1. Stand in the 'warrior pose':
- Bring your hitting hand back behind your head to ‘scratch your ear’
- Hold the ball out straight in front of you
2. Throw the ball up in the air in front of you, then step and hit the ball at your highest point of contact
- Give the ball a big high 5
- Follow your arm through the ball
